What is Solar Energy? How is It Obtained?
Solar energy is a form of electromagnetic radiation emitted from the Sun. This radiation carries energy such as light and heat, and when it reaches the Earth, it can be used in various ways. The methods of obtaining solar energy are as follows:
Photovoltaic (PV) Cells: Solar panels or photovoltaic cells convert sunlight directly into electrical energy. Condensed Solar Energy (CSP): In this method, mirrors or lenses are used to focus sunlight. Focused solar energy is usually concentrated at one point, and this heat is used to provide electricity generation, usually by turning turbines.
